Combined solution for disinfecting water using UV-C radiation and hydrogen peroxide

Using a mixed biocide process (UV-C + hydrogen peroxide), BWT ECO-UV is an eco-responsible solution for disinfecting circulating and/or stagnant water at pond level, for perfect control of the microbial load and a reduction in COD.

Designed for all sites equipped with cooling towers, BWT ECO-UV is particularly suitable for treating difficult cooling water, and generates no chemical waste.

Together with the BWT ECO-MX range, these are truly effective alternatives to conventional chemical biocide treatments.

The eco-responsible alternative to chemical biocide treatments

Designed to replace the use of non-oxidising or halogenated oxidising biocides (chlorine, bromine), the mixed biocidal process draws on both the properties of UV-C lamps, which destroy the DNA of living cells, and activated hydrogen peroxide, which helps to control biofilm (free radicals). The synergy between these two technologies ensures that the treatment remains effective throughout the circuit, thereby complying with regulations (BPR and Rubrique 2921).

Water disinfection using a combined UV-C and hydrogen peroxide process does not generate any by-products in the effluent, limiting chemical risks and creating a positive environmental impact by improving the quality of wastewater discharged into the natural environment.

BWT ECO-UV is modular, designed to be precisely sized for the volume of water needed to operate the installation, and can manage shutdown and restart periods. Finally, it protects equipment from the impact of corrosion (no chlorine/bromine) thanks to continuous use and dosing.
