BWT OPTIVAP

A comprehensive, tailor-made package for optimising the energy efficiency of your steam boilers by installing reverse osmosis water treatment.

Much more than a purely technical solution, BWT OPTIVAP is a comprehensive, customised 3-year support project by BWT teams to reduce your energy consumption, including:

  • technical expertise dedicated to your infrastructure, so that you can take full advantage of BWT's experience,
  • guaranteed results in terms of energy savings and reduced consumption,
  • cost control thanks to rapid optimisation of installation efficiency, financing facilities and a BWT guarantee on the cost of the work.

Optimising boiler water to reduce carbon footprint

BWT OPTIVAP

Decarbonation: a priority for industry

Water efficiency is a real lever for environmental, economic and regulatory performance for all manufacturers. The aim is to consume less, produce better and discharge less.

Optimising boiler water treatment, by installing an osmosis unit, has the direct effect of reducing your carbon footprint (fossil fuels) as well as reducing consumption of water, chemical conditioning products and the quantity of water discharged. What's more, this optimisation helps to limit the drop in efficiency and wear and tear on boilers, and therefore to protect and preserve your company's equipment.

In response to these challenges, BWT has devised the BWT OPTIVAP concept, adapted to all steam systems up to 20 mW and easy to implement, in order to optimise the treatment of industrial boiler water and support the decarbonation of industries.

In addition to the possibility of benefiting from government financial aid, including the ESC scheme and an investment made by BWT as part of the BWT OPTIVAP 3-year contract, this is also an opportunity for you to replace an ageing installation with a high-performance reverse osmosis water treatment system.

Overall, savings of up to 30% can be made on your current water treatment contract, with a return on investment in 9 to 11 months, thanks to the savings generated (in water, energy and chemicals) and the external financing provided by the C2E scheme.

traitement eau Brasserie Licorne

BRASSERIE LICORNE BREWERY
Reducing carbon footprint and water consumption

As part of an energy management project for production, Licorne wanted to improve the quality of the water entering the boiler, which produces the steam needed to heat the brewing tanks and whose water treatment was provided by a softener.

By installing an osmosis unit at the steam boiler inlet ( OPTIVAP solution with ESC), our customer reduced its annual gas consumption as well as its water consumption.

Results: - 500 MWh per year, i.e. 10 tonnes of CO2 not emitted into the atmosphere and 60% less water used

A reverse osmosis water treatment system (2m3/h) was installed in a 2x7700 kW steam boiler room operating in 3x8 shifts, at a cost of €34,000. This resulted in savings of 63% in treatment products, 7% in gas equivalent (at a cost of €40,000) and 80% in purging.

The operation was financed by €40,000 in ESC.

BLOG - Questions about Energy Savings Certificates

Since 2005, ESCs have been used to finance operations designed to reduce energy consumption in a wide range of business sectors, as well as in the residential sector. Despite the (relative) age of the scheme, successive changes have not made it any easier to understand.
