As a manufacturer of galvanised sheets, ArcelorMittal Construction France has relied on BWT for almost 25 years to treat water for cooling towers, steam boilers and the WWTP (wastewater treatment plant).
The ArcelorMittal site in Moselle has deployed innovative BWT technologies. These investments have reduced the risks of legionella, corrosion and scaling, ensured continuous monitoring of the installations, and guaranteed optimum quality, performance and safety throughout the water treatment chain.

The issues
Improving water quality in industrial processes
ArcelorMittal Construction France, a steelmaker with QSE certification, is aiming for industrial and environmental excellence. As such, the performance and safety of its industrial processes require water, energy and environmental efficiency.
ArcelorMittal called on BWT in the late 1990s to help optimise the treatment of water used throughout the site, from cooling towers to steam boilers.
The solution
Innovation, proximity and responsiveness
The proximity, responsiveness and quality of the human relationship offered by BWT, combined with the performance of its innovative solutions, have enabled ArcelorMittal to achieve its objectives in terms of the performance, safety and quality of the water used on its production line.
In addition to the eight osmosis units installed on the site over the years, ArcelorMittal has equipped itself with an ECO-MX to produce disinfectant solution, in situ and on demand. Since then, no trace of legionella has been detected in any of the water heaters. Thanks to BWT Bluwell, ArcelorMittal can now also monitor the performance of its infrastructures in real time, giving it greater control over the deployment of new technologies while complying with all the environmental requirements in force in the sector.
